U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown of Florida, who was a “once-powerful Democrat,” is pleading guilty to federal charges.
She was previously let out early on a five-year sentence during the COVID-19 pandemic. But now she’s going back to prison.
75-year-old Brown initially pleaded not guilty to 18 charges, including mail and wire fraud, conspiracy, and filing false tax returns. She’s changing her plea to guilty, but it’s unclear which specific charges Brown is pleading guilty to.
There is a scheduled upcoming hearing with U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan.
While operating a non-profit organization, Brown was found guilty of fraud. Money received by her non-profit was actually transferred to her private accounts and was used for throwing parties, luxury vacations, and shopping. READ MORE...
